Living in My Craft Bubble

It's been a hectic (but fun!) last week! We are in the last push to get everything crafted for the Canada Day craft market. It's always a fun time on Canada Day, but sometimes the prep can be stressful! Luckily this last week Ness and I got out downtown to do some thrifting/picture taking/goofing around. We also hit the Value Village 1/2 price sale - here's a teaser of how rad our finds were:

(yes I am in an animal costume, it was too cute to resist trying it on!)

When we went thrifting downtown we clowned around a little in the Pop-Up Park they just built! It was so much fun (even though people starred at us for laughing and taking pictures - apparently they are just no fun!)

Then for some fun inspiration we took the back alley to see if we could find any rad shots - take a look!

(ghetto fabulous??? :) )

But I guess that is all the adventures I have to post! Back to work! We will post pics of the booth for sure :) XO

Song of the Day: Hero of War by Rise Against

If you haven't checked him out yet too, we are crushing hard this week on the work of Tony Moore! So cool and fun - give him a look - http://tonymooreillustration.com/

Retail therapy, crafting and nail polish OH MY!

Friday at last! I just wanted to post quick to officially unveil our newest zombie monkey - meet Milo!

I think he is the perfect amount of cute and spooky... although I guess I could be a little biased in that department!

As far as my Friday is concerned, it is going to be filled with a strong dose of retail therapy after work, and then a night in crafting and trying nail tutorials with Janessa. We might even try our hands at taking a twin portrait....

The song playing in my head today: Are You Lonesome Tonight - Elvis Presley.

It's a rainy Thursday in paradise....

The clouds outside are skittering across the sky, hiding the Sun mostly from sight as I start the Outlaw Heart blog. I guess I left my manners behind with the sunshine, I haven't introduced myself yet! I'm Jaycene and along with my twin sister and number one partner in crime, Janessa we run our own handmade business. We sell all sorts of wonderful goodies from skeleton sock monkeys and zombie organs to replica Harry Potter acceptance letters to upcycled and totally one of a kind clothing. I guess you could call us " Jills of All Trades." We love to sew, crochet, paint, draw and design. We get inspired by everything from Hello Kitty to zombies and channel all of our daily experiences and inspirations into our continually evolving lines of wares. Our latest brainchild, a super gnarly zombie sock monkey will be unveiled later tonight in our original Etsy store, www.outlawheartcreations.etsy.com. We call it the "original" store because we now have a vintage and handmade clothing shop: www.outlawheartvintage.etsy.com and a paper company with a ton of Harry Potter stuff: www.outlawheartpaperco.etsy.com. When I'm not crafting and creating, you can find me working at the local tattoo parlor - it is a rad job and constantly feeds me inspirations for creating (as well as for ink!). I also dig playing with my little furbaby, Scarlet Emily. She is a mini long haired weiner dog who is far too cute for her own good and will most likely be a regular feature on this blog as she is a princess and loves to get her picture taken - see for yourself!

Janessa and I also love to thrift and go to shows. We love music and going to concerts is one of our many obsessions. We are self-identifying geeks who aren't afraid to show off our nerdy side. In fact, we are getting Harry Potter tattoos soon, which will act as a permanent marker of our geek status (as does our weekly trip to the comic store!). There, now we're all introduced! Keep an eye on this blog for weekly crafting tips, tricks and pics, as well as ramblings from our lives. Like my favorite song today: Dyed in the Wool by Circa Survive - listen to it, it's good stuff :) Have a rad day dolls and fellas! XO
